Since 2002, the Colombian Medical Federation, Medicentro-Medinformática and Infomed combined efforts to achieve a perspective on behalf of the effectiveness, the quality and the safety of medications in Colombia. Thus, they formed a de facto alliance named as the Colombian Medication Observatory, also known as OBSERVAMED.
This completely new section of the OBSERVAMED webpage is devoted to medication´s safety, and is its most recently developed element, launched in coincidence with the admission of Colombia as official member of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring, based in Uppsala - Sweden.
We pretend to offer with this webpage a different concept to envision the pharmacovigilance as scientific - technical topic, specially devoted to Colombians but also open to other countries in the world, for one of the most usual problems with it lies beneath relevant information accesibility, as both its quantity and quality.
This webpage will use Spanish as primary tongue, for the sake of its main goal, having this section as a summary for english-speakers. At the same time, it will be used as forum for those who want to be specifically of the opinion.
Therefore, we dedicate this webpage for those "fans", i.e., health professionals dedicated to pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology and/or pharmacovigilance, or those who are aficionados, and consequently we invite them to make questions, comments as well as suggestions.
The OBSERVAMED Team
